Soumya shares his dream of travelling 20,000 Kms, along the boundaries of India, with a friend. An exclusive for Different Truths.
It has always been our dream to discover the boundaries of India, which were used by the ancient travellers to arrive into this country as well as the routes which would have been taken by the medieval travellers to reach this country.
Who are we? One of us is have recently retired and the other will be shortly retiring senior positions in a government company.
Our love for travel off-road and off the beaten path into the unknown. We have been consumed by the lust for life and travel. We have done road trips from Delhi to Nubra Valley and back via Rohtang La, Spiti, Leh, Kargil, Zozila and Srinagar.

What do we intend to do? Not the Belt and Road Initiative but we plan to cover 20,000 kms of Border and Coastal Road by car.
Like the flight of the phoenix, we will be on the road for 120 days taking us to the cold environs of Siachin base camp to the serene beaches of Kanya Kumari through the folk-role of the deserts of Rajasthan to the mellifluous salt-pans of Gujarat into the mysterious coasts of Konkan all the way into the arms of the beaches of Tamil Nadu.
What is our flight plan? Like the flight of the phoenix, we will be on the road for 120 days taking us to the cold environs of Siachin base camp to the serene beaches of Kanya Kumari through the folk-role of the deserts of Rajasthan to the mellifluous salt-pans of Gujarat into the mysterious coasts of Konkan all the way into the arms of the beaches of Tamil Nadu. Our journey will take us through Andhra Pradesh into the fascinating wetlands of Orissa, the intriguing mangroves of Bengal covering into the ghats as well as the terai.
What is our dream? Clean air and fresh eyes. To go where we have never gone before but also to stop and take the time to chat and partly experience the life of the men and women of India’s border road organisations, Indo Tibetan Border Police, BSF, who proudly and valiantly protect, maintain and keep safe India’s border and roads.
What do we need from you? What most people want – money and publicity. Please support and sponsor us in as we embark on the first journey of our new lives. Driving down 20k and being on the road for four months will not be cheap. Helps us get publicity on print outlets for the print and audio visual story of our adventures.
