An evocative rain poem, celebrating the many shades and hues of nature, by Dr. Amrinder, exclusively for Different Truths.

Raindrops drum upon my window
Like a bunch of jolly drummers
I cannot help but drum my fingers
Merrily, on my wooden desk
Raindrops tap on my window
Like a tap dancers on a spree
I cannot help but tap my feet with
Wondrous, maddening glee.
Leafy crowns of wind-lashed trees
Sway, like wild head bangers
I cannot help but give free rein
To a whirling, dervish-like frenzy.
I hear the roaring laugh of thunder,
See, the lightening flash of its smile
I cannot help but smile and set
My, long-fettered laughter free.
As ropes of rain plough parched earth
And the world is awash with rapture
I cannot help but shudder in ecstasy
As rain clouds quench my thirst.
