A woman-centric, evocative poem, by Harinder, exclusively for Different Truths.

I am an unstoppable woman of courage,
And I say this with pride –
I have explored the space and the moon
My dream is not only to become a bride
I am not only flesh and blood,
I have feeling organs inside
People just see the outer shell and think that
I am from the delicate tribe,
Yes, I am delicate,
With a neurology as intricate
As of any man on this earth
Only I can boast of giving birth
For my rights, and rightful place
I am not going to loud my bass
I will do little things every day
I will keep doing them anyway
Look after my family and my children
Serve the mankind, sisters and brethren
Sometimes feed a dog stray
Sometimes for the sick I pray
Sometimes feed a beggar old
Give him a blanket in the cold
Oh man! You call me the delicate one
It's my shoulder you cry upon
You can be big, I am happy being small
And I promise to hold you when you fall
My strength the creator could clearly see
So, his power to create, he entrusted in me.
