Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An inward-looking evocative poem, by Deeya, exclusively for Different Truths.

We talked, and voices rang in the air
We brewed and talked
We shredded and indulged
in songs of mockery
We fished in the river, in our Sampan
We, the natives of this land
We sat next to each other
and our fingers touched the root
of warmth that we carried inside us
The fires broke, and our breath
underneath our tongue
We, the natives of this land
that cropped up somewhere, in
the perturbed valleys and mountains
that cradled us.
