          kids babble
sweet nothings
          drifting off
to sweet slumber...
 
            husband
silenced to
           nothing,
gropes for the phone…
 
In the front seat
          the young
parents
              building
their own worlds...
 
conversations
         cackling...
 
save for a
      random query
        from your son,        
marked exclusivity.!
 
       the float some
presences…
             required or
redundant?
 
is it a cycle
         of repeats?

             ride ahead
taking things
           for granted
be it elders,
         or things that
belong to the.
