Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A woman-centric protest poem by Parvathy, exclusively for Different Truths.

People called her by different names…
She blew forth like the wind –
Spreading the fragrance of wild roses.
She poured forth like the torrential rain-
And soothed the Sun burnt baked soil.
She wrapped around like the mist-
And comforted the souls in the shroud.
She wafted in like the clouds-
Filling in the vibrance of love in each one’s lives.
And thus spake people who addressed her by different names.

They raised queries –
Regarding her myriad forms.
Never Stopping to remember –
Durga
Kali
Saraswathi
Lakshmi and
Parvathi…

Yet, despite addressing her by different names.
The Lakshmi in her, prospered.
The Saraswathi in her, enlightened.
The Parvathi in her, blessed.
And the Durga and Kali in her, took to arms to live and let live.
And people called her by different names.
She treaded a variety of paths,
To lead her daughters
To be called after her…
