Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An evocative love poem, by Sujatha, exclusively for Different Truths.

The lanes were long
and eerie
with monsoon skies
and summer streets,
and the fall forever
befell the trees,
until you came by.

The nights were quiet
and deafening
with a frenzy of thoughts,
the days rambled on,
their ways
always in a haze,
until you came by.

The birds sang
and faltered into silence
unheard,
the flowers smiled
and withered
untouched,
until you came by.

Laden with the world
the dew dropped
and shattered
and formed again
unseen
unloved
and then you came by.
