A dark poem about neglect, by Sunil, exclusively for Different Truths.

Corner-room of the house in partial decay,

on a bed narrow, she stares at the walls
and the chest of medicines, a cell phone
in hand, the hand near the pillow, where a rosary
and holy books are kept as a tiny bundle;

the wind outside wanders
as an urchin
looking for the

treasures imagined/real
some place
among the weeds
that choke the path to that
lonely house
near the river shrunk in the summers
and muddy in winters, abandoned by life.

    Haunting, they picked an excellent graphic to capture atmospheric tone of poem, what a memorable & stunning description and personification of natural elements!!! Excellent work…
