Dalits Uprooted: Houses Burnt Forcibly by SDM Karchana

SDM Karchana Kuldev Singh clandestinely uprooted and broke into the hutments with JCB machines and set fire to the 40-year-old houses of 19 Dalit landless labourers in Kaundhiyara yesterday. AIKMS Allahabad President, Comrade Ram Kailash tried to reason with the SDM, explaining to him the facts, but he refused to listen to reason. A report, for Different Truths.

AIKMS has strongly condemned SDM Karchana Kuldev Singh for clandestinely uprooting, breaking the houses with JCB machines and setting fire to the 40-year-old houses of 19 Dalit landless labourers in Kaundhiyara yesterday. AIKMS Allahabad President, Comrade Ram Kailash tried to reason with the SDM, explaining to him the facts, but he refused to listen to reason. Photographs attached reveal the criminal atrocity unleashed, according to a media release.

This Basti has several government-sanctioned houses, hand pumps, transformers. The case in the High Court was settled against them as they were not a party, the DM Allahabad was and he never pleaded the truth. The contempt order was passed on November 5, 2014, it was informed.

The release added that after this the landless peasants appealed to the DM and he gave his ruling on July 3, 2015, in which Kaushal Raj Sharma ordered that a new pond be excavated at an alternative site and the workers not be displaced.

SDM Kuldev Singh has acted without any new proceedings and without any notice to the workers. He has acted illegally. AIKMS has condemned his hate act against Dalits. It will take agitational steps against this heinous crime. Yogi government is continuously supporting illegal attacks on Dalits and helping landlords to occupy lands in possession of Dalits, the media release stressed.
