The outcast
 
The blood of disgrace
Is in menstruation.
 
And not upon
(A foreign) foreskin
In humility
 
And not as
A wife to bear it
In humility
 
For this
I give
No guarantee.

Tali Cohen Shabtai, a poet, she was born in Jerusalem, Israel. She began writing poetry at the age of six. Her poems express spiritual and physical exile. She is studying her exile and freedom paradox, her cosmopolitan vision is very obvious in her writings. She lived in Oslo, Norway and in the U.S.A.
