Rakhi tells us the joy and fun of the Easter egg hunt and also the wonderful sibling bond between her two children. An exclusive for Different Truths.

Everyone was extremely excited about the long weekend and the fun going to be during easter break. Easter is a Christian festival. Easter bunny and Easter eggs are the symbols of Easter. When we talk about Easter then Easter bunny, eggs, cookies, and chocolates come to mind. Supermarkets were decorated with bunny status, posters, and chocolates in the shape of bunnies. Little kids always get fascinated when seeing them.

A popular Easter festival is always held for four days during the Easter break. An Easter festival is always full of fun and excitement. It’s a place where all ages group of people can enjoy and thrill rides. Children love to play ‘play and win’ games because winning is such a pleasure. It doesn’t matter to them what they win, with small prizes they get happy.

The most popular thing about Easter is egg hunting. This is a game to hunt the hidden decorated or easter eggs. This game can be played by any age group of people but children’s enthusiasm is always at the peak. I made eggs from foil sheets for egg hunting. My children were excited to play this game. I made almost 20 egg shapes and hid them in my backyard. I told my kids that there are twenty minutes to hunt them, and who will collect the more, will be the winner. My little one was exhilarated to know about the game rules. The moment I said “get set go” she started to run and peeked over the grass and behind the pots promptly and started to collect the eggs. She got thrilled whenever she was finding and picking the eggs.

An Easter festival is always full of fun and excitement.

My husband was mounting pressure on my kids by saying, “Find faster, the time is running out”. Kids were screaming out of excitement and running here and there. They seemed like bunnies when they were hoping from one place to another. It has always been a joyous time when we see our kids happy and playing together. After twenty minutes, my husband whistled and asked kids to stop hunting and bring their baskets to us.

Kids were screaming … running here and there. They seemed like bunnies when they were hoping from one place to another.

We started to count the eggs and realised that our son is the winner. But sneakily, my son took out two eggs from his pocket that he was hiding and said oh sister, you dropped the eggs on the ground. Hurriedly, she grabbed the eggs from his palm and put them in her basket. This act showed the love and bonding between them. Being an elder brother he let her win. This is an amazing thing to see that in a family there is no actual play of winning but winning is when you make your loved ones happy. We announced the winner and she felt elated. We gave her a box of chocolates.

These festivals bring lots of enjoyment and happiness to life.

She was happily saying, “Yeah I am the winner” all over again.  She was standing beside her brother and said, “Bhaiya (brother) don’t worry, I will share with you.” And after hearing this my heart was filled with joy. I was delighted to see that being a younger child she also cared for her brother.

She was standing beside her brother and said, “Bhaiya (brother) don’t worry, I will share with you.”

These festivals bring lots of enjoyment and happiness to life. Also, these festivals provide an opportunity for people to spend time together with their families. Children grow so fast even we too. Our tastes about food and enjoyment change with maturity. I believe we must fully focus on the current time because once it’s gone means it’s gone. The festive food and games help to build a bond among children, parents, and grandparents.
