According to any English dictionary dream is defined as a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep. Dreaming also includes nurturing deep-seated desires wishes and aspirations.
Strangely enough, we humans often forget that homo sapiens are the only species upon this planet that enjoy this privilege of dreaming. And most important of all it costs nothing!
Going by the definitions, one doesn’t necessarily need to sleep in order to dream. You can even do it in broad daylight.

Take a break from your regular activities, sprawl on your easy chair (alternatively a rocking chair) in a comfortable frame of mind and watch medley of dreams crowd your mind.
Dreams are transient, ephemeral in nature bursting like bubbles in no time. There are instances galore – in novels, poetry, and theatre and film – of dreams going sour or remaining unrealised. That’s the greatest tragedy of human life.

Temperamentally, I am a dreamer. It is such a leisurely activity and I enjoy it to the hilt.
One of my fondest dreams is about owning a massive library lined with volumes from the ceiling to the floor, surfeit with classic and humorous fiction from most celebrated international authors.

from the ceiling to the floor, surfeit with classic and humorous fiction from most celebrated international authors. The gourmand (read foodie) in my dreams of sampling haute cuisine and vintage (must include Johnnie Walker and Chardonnay) from all corners of the earth.
Unlike most members of my sex, I don’t dream of fancy clothes For the simple reason that’s because I don’t possess a shapely hour glass figure (never did) that helps to accentuate the charm and glamour of such expensive apparels.
However, jewellery and accessories are different ball game, and I dream of procuring solitaire items because they are minimal yet classy.
Ditto for cavernous hand bags from the houses of Prada, Gucci and the like.
Coming down to more mundane things, my partner, who happens to be an ace driver, has a fetish for cars. He has driven all sorts of four wheelers during his heydays.

However, in his heart of hearts he still dreams of and longs for a Mercedes Benz the epitome of luxury and comfort. More expensive cars do exist; nevertheless, the Merc retains it pride of place.
Finally Travel. There are virtually no limits to where your dreams may transport you. In my dreams I traversed thousands of miles to catch a glimpse of the legendary Machu Pichu in the wilderness of Peru; often I have gazed in wonder at the formidable Great Wall of China still standing tall and proud. The enigmatic Fujiyama (Japan) and the majestic Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) have left me bemused. I found my leisure on the beaches of sunny Sicily, mingled with the colourful, towering Masai folks, sipped my café au lait during an evening in Paris, heard the chimes of the good old Big Ben in London; while soaring above the picturesque Alps, overlooking the meandering Danube my heart is filled with the sound of music…
