Reading Time: < 1 minute

On Friday, a storm lashed Delhi. Dr Amrinder celebrates the storm, reminding us of Tagore, exclusively for Different Truths.

In the eye of a storm I’m caught
And brace myself for the onslaught
Yet, it’s not fear that terrorises
But its might, that mesmerises
In wonderment and joy I glance
At the wind and leaves in a frenzied dance.
The sound, the scent, the glorious sight
My skin, my senses, my soul delight
Even as,
A lifeless tree, leafless and brown,
With a mighty gust, comes crashing down.
Be it God’s wrath or the work of the devil
In its fury, I rejoice and revel
For, the chaos without, strangely calms
The unrest within, like a soothing balm.
