Parvathy tells us about a patient sinking into despondency. Here’s a dark poem, exclusively for Different Truths.

An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.
But no. Or it cannot.
I consult my doctors every month,
But I was left quite untreated,
after many tests, and most times
Diagnosis failed, like the apples.

And all beliefs slowly started,
Taking away my hopes.
Because they all tried to treat
my disease, and not me.

How can one be cured?
Whose mind is deeply affected,
The embers of deep distress
Couldn’t be found by any…
And all my doctors kept treating my disease,
but my mind was untouched.

Day after day, I slipped to darkness,
The dark winds of dismay
Couldn’t be diagnosed ever
And I was driven deep down.

And I slowly started forgetting,
All the pains, sorrows and even
solitude couldn’t touch my mind more
Neither my doctors, nor the apple.
And I slowly started to believe
The darkness in the dark.
