Rituparna dedicates a poem, in Bengali, to the Bard of Shantiniketan, as Special Feature, on his 159th birth anniversary. An exclusive for Different Truths.

In all emotions of our lives we find his poetry or his melody to perfectly fit in. And, language of rhyme and rhythm is universal, they say.

The Bard of Shantiniketan, being a global denizen, primarily is a Bengali and I have learnt to love him and his creations first in my mother tongue, Bengali. So, on his 159th birth anniversary, I dedicate a poem to him, written in his and my mother tongue, Bengali.

The poem is a humble tribute to Tagore where I admit that I have no audacity to compose poetry on him. Though an ordinary human, I can personify myself to some of the profound female characters his pen has traced. They are Sucharita, Labanya, Bijaya. I can amalgamate my ideals with his ideals of humanism since he is the friend,

guide and philosopher of millions of hearts of us, the ardent book lovers.
