A dark poem on social issue, by Deeya, exclusively for Different Truths.

The soft wind
humming low
swerves in and out
of the concrete jungle

on the sky rise
where among them
lulled by the sun’s vibrant hues
promises are etched in
pastel shades of blue n’ pink
words woven refulgent
Lunar words wading
in the summer night

words oyster bright
dancing on the lips of the sun
entice the new-born dew
words that nestled among
treetops at night
will soar unknown at day
frosty words will slither
among pines
and crocus appearing
in spring…

words evade the belief
in eyes that linger
swell like heaving tides
a fear that hangs like a noose
among unsought
withered and shrivelled ones
words that never heal wounds
shrieking with distrust and
sufferings
of Parvati, Shivani, Durga,
Kali
all ages and all times
sold burnt slaughtered
an untimely death
a still born curse —

Among these ruins
that transcends all
the squalor and stench
are those
eulogies
of Aphrodite and spring….
