Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Here’s an evocative poem by Anumita that deals with the ephemeral life and its eternal possibilities – exclusively for Different Truths.

One night when my feet touch the clouds,
the moonbeams pierced my heart,
shattering my core into million pieces.

Floating around me they all glittered,
my fingers touched some of them.
My eyes remained still and my breath held,
As I felt all the desires and wishes, one by one.

Some of them glittered like diamonds,
a spectrum of my unbound sensations.
Few twinkled like lively flames,
ignited by thought yet to be realized.

Wild and brazen were their colours,
they whirl around in slow motion.
Caressing, cajoling and evoking,
unbound and untethered emotions.

I felt heaven, earth and all in between,
as the swirl and crash gained crescendo.
In their rhythm and melody,
I lived it all in one night for eternity.

Every second was a lifetime,
and every breath a new life,
Assimilating back elated and alive.
