Reviewing the spiritual film Hanuman Ansh for DifferentTruths.com, Rekha discovered a deeply moving, pure cinematic experience transcending standard commercial boundaries.
Key Takeaways
- Pure & Wholesome Storytelling: The film relies on genuine simplicity, love, and compassion without relying on violence, cuss words, or complex special effects.
- Profound Spiritual Impact: Viewers experience an electrifying, meditative atmosphere that slows time down and fosters deep emotional connection.
- Universal Audience Appeal: The movie successfully unites diverse generations—from super senior citizens to Gen Z—in a shared journey of faith and hope.
My curiosity and my friend’s review sealed it all. We decided to watch the film, Hanuman Ansh. In fact, it became the most novel and unique experience of my lifetime! It was powerful and had a strong spiritual essence. The film takes us on a journey of utmost faith, devotion and hope.
As I sat in the theatre waiting for the film to start, I looked around to see an audience of a different kind – most of us were on the other side of the mountain or super senior citizens. There were a few who were being wheeled in- something that I have never seen before! And a few Gen Z too, which was a welcome sight!
The film started, and as it progressed, I felt I was in a temple: the atmosphere almost electrifying in its calmness and sanctity. The narrative is overtly emotional and simple, as it mostly tells us incidents of the saint’s connections with the most ordinary people. Not even for a moment does one feel there is an influence of any kind or that he is being manipulated. His profoundness lay in his simplicity.
His motto – bhookon ko khana khilao aur bhakton ko prasad do! The concept of the intervention of the rich and famous is totally missing! He did not have this larger-than-life aura about him – he just became one with his people with utmost ease.
I am compelled to wonder how a man can start a movement with such a simple motto! There were moments in the film where He speaks in a lighter vein, lending a very realistic touch to the film. There was nothing that was feigned. We are drawn into this whirlpool of believing what we saw, and somehow somewhere, we lost the power or the ability to disbelieve. Every scene felt so real and organic!
What was more endearing was the fact that here was a film which did not have any cuss words or inappropriate language or scenes, nil on violence, and the only overpowering emotion was love, kindness and compassion. Where do we see such films being made now that provide a wholesome experience?
There was no grandeur in the making, no special effects whatsoever, but the emotion – the experience that the audience received was more than grand! It was just purity in its most pristine form!
It is time cinema upscaled itself to show more goodness, more positive emotions, and become more inspiring and motivational. We are living in a world which is getting increasingly evil, and I feel cinema is one major contributor. If cinema has the power to influence people, then let us make an earnest and sincere effort to create films that will motivate and move people in the right direction.
Hanuman Ansh was a meditative experience indeed! It was almost as if the world around me had slowed down and we were living in that era. We almost became a part of the entire film, travelling with the characters and experiencing everything that we were seeing.
Kudos to the entire team of Hanuman Ansh!
