Heartbreaking Love Loss: When Sorrow Exhales Unarmed

The heart remembers what the mind tells it not to
Pulse to pulse –
Even sorrow exhales – unarmed and solo
And kept the keys of the locked bosom somewhere forlornly

Time learned this time to sit silently – no questions asked
I left the door ardently unguarded this time
To wait for the echo of loneliness

The locked room no longer called me by its anguish
Inner woe unlearned my name
My kindred spirit left through the open door – smiling.
Just the breath chose to stay with me.
