The World of Waters

Anumita captures the enigmatic mystery of water bodies that she had visited, in an enchanting photo essay, exclusively for Different Truths.

Water, a compound with two parts Hydrogen and one part Oxygen, so fluid, yet so strong. It molds and carves while caressing in its gentle waves. It envelopes more than half of the earth, while constantly changing the earth’s contours. Ponds, lakes, brooks, rivers, seas, and oceans have a mystic of their own. Their mysteries often is hidden from human eyes, but their lure is immense. Their lapping waves and roaring foams beckon to most human souls.

“Come away, O human child! /To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand,/ For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.” ~ W. B. Yeats, The Stolen Child

More than mountains, water bodies have always attracted me. I am not a swimmer but still find their lure hard to resist. I have shot few pictures of different water bodies I have visited in recent years. Some photographs are shot with my cell phones some with my camera. Hope you will enjoy this photo travel.
