Dr Amrinder explores nature’s timeless grace on DifferentTruths.com, capturing the serene wilderness of the Aravalli hills through poetic reflections.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep
I've kept the promises I had to keep
Of my responsibilities, I've taken care
I now have time to stand and stare.
Down a winding forest trail, I walk
As peacocks, nilgai, and jackals, I stalk
Squirrels, mongoose, in such a hurry
Here and there, they rush and scurry.
Each leaf, each flower, tells the story.
Of Nature's strength, beauty and glory
I could walk for miles and run marathons.
Feel love, for even cobras and pythons.
On Aravalli, the oldest mountain range
Past birds, butterflies and berries are strange.
Past plants and shrubs, castle-like anthills
Past medicinal trees that cure all ills
Along undulating paths, leisurely, I trek.
To stand in awe on the Kallu and Salai deck
To gaze at vistas spread lush and green
To take in fresh air and the serene ambience
Far away from the maddening crowd
From the concrete jungle. The noises are loud.
I spread my arms wide to embrace
Nature's glory and God's grace.
If I could give a lesson to humans, I could give
It would be just 'to live and let live'.
