Awakening to an Unnamed Resonance

Morning, June rain. The city’s still as quiet as a lonely hamlet. The rain-slicked streets are
peaceful. The windows are open. Between the chords of a flamenco song, an aeroplane engine rumbles in the sky. An unnamed resonance is coursing through me.

The dream in which I float lies outstretched and becomes transparent. I move and begin to grope around for others’ attention. I dab rhythms, colours, images and harmonies into my moments. Metaphor may enter and speak to me after a while.

No one is here. I almost look blank to perceive context. I am emptied of seeds of trust. I bleed in silence.

morning unfolds –
falls on itself
to hide its dissonance
