Prof Malashri Lal illuminates a soul’s quest for Ma Tara’s grace amid invisible battles, an evocative poem on DifferentTruths.com.
Looking for a female force
to whom I could be confessional
I went seeking Ma Tara
born of Avalokiteswara’s tears
caused by the prevailing injustices.
Under the green canopy of pines
I prayed for Ma Tara’s compassion
for mine were a woman’s invisible battles of a wounded soul.
Lost in reverie, I suddenly heard
‘Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha’,
She had arrived before I had completed my supplication.
