Mridu Mridu Mrityu: A Ring of Classical Poetry

Sneha reviews Surya Mishra’s Mridu Mridu Mrityu, a Hindi translation from Odia, exclusively for Different Truths.

Book:  Mridu Mridu Mrityu

Author : Surya Mishra

Genre: Poem

My Ratings: ☆☆☆☆

This is a collection of poetry, originally written in Odia, translated in Hindi.

There are 49 poems in total, each portraying different themes and aspect of life and society. Most of the poems are centred on human emotion. One thing which impressed me thoroughly is the language, and structure of poems.

One thing which impressed me thoroughly is the language, and structure of poems. Honestly speaking, I do not read poetry much because it needs your complete attention and a certain mood. But this is a collection which is worth it.

I really loved a few of the poems more than others, which are,  Deval, DukhBhayZid,  GharPoshak and Nayika.

The language of the poems made me recall a few of the classic poets I have read in past.

The poems are really beautiful and unique.

A must read!
