BS Yeddyurappa Resigns: BJP Fails to Lure MLAs from Congress and JDS to Vote in its Favour

Putting all speculations to an end, BS Yeddyurappa, declared that he was resigning. He did not face the strength of the house. A flash report by Arindam, exclusively for Different Truths.

BS Yeddyurappa resigns on the floor of the Vidhan Soudha gracefully, on Saturday (May 19). The BJP could not get the Congress and JDS MLAs crossover. The constant lure, reportedly Rs 100 crores and a ministerial berth, could not add up the numbers.

The Congress and JDS kept their flock together. There was last-minute drama when two Congress MLAs were missing, only to be brought back from a hotel where they were holed up. The BJP MLAs welcomed them, but the two prodigal sons of Congress decided to return to their own parties.

There have been several audio tapes, whose veracity cannot be ascertained, that had the voices of BJP leaders and Reddy’s brother, promising the moon to the Congress MLAs. The Congress has lodged an FIR, though the BJP did not, except that they issued statements that it was an attempt to tarnish them.

Political pundits opined that democracy has been saved, thankfully due to the intervention of the Supreme Court. The apex court struck down the 15-day period that the Karnataka Governor had given to the CM.

However, the office of the Governor was blemished. He acted more like a BJP-RSS Pracharak, alleged the Congress leaders.

For a change, the political managers of the Congress in Karnataka did not allow the BJP to our manoeuvre them.
