Three Reasons Injera is Aptly Savoured by the Ethiopians

Injera, the flatbread with a small honeycomb-like structure made out by fermentation of teff flour, is a traditional food served with meat and vegetable savoured by Ethiopians and Eritreans. This African delicacy not only is highly nutritious but is a symbol of harmony as the family and friends share this big tempting bread by eating on the same plate. Let’s have a look at the three reasons why injera is rightly a complete diet.

#.A rich source of macronutrients, vitamins and minerals

A single serving contains adequate amount of calories, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals. All these are essential for the proper functioning of the organs. For instance, the high iron content is instrumental in transporting oxygen to the body, zinc aids in satisfying your taste buds, vitamin A is good for eyes, Vitamin K helps in blood coagulation, etc.

#.A rich source of fiber

Dietary fibre is an essential element. It provides ample amount of fibers and promotes the movement of material through your digestive system and helps avoid constipation.

#.Symbolises brotherhood

When the family members and friends share the meal in the same injera plate, it undoubtedly strengthens the bond and promotes love and harmony, which is important in the modern tech-savvy era where people dwell more in the virtual world than real.
