Remembrance on a Cold Morning

An evocative poem of love and longing, by Lipsa, exclusively for Different Truths.

Looking at this bright white snow,
Fresh come from cold misty skies,
My senses are taken deep down below
The heaps of memories that now feel like lies,
To memory lanes where once the sun did rise.

Forgotten feelings come rushing through,
My dark blue veins in a blink’s time,
In remembrance of a time when birds still flew,
Make fast the heart and head lost in some sweet chime,
And thoughts harmonise into a merry rhyme.

White snow, rainbow’s seven colours showing
As sun rays touch its crumbly face,
Brings back the sensation of you touching
My heart’s cores with your love and grace;
The light in me, to that again I can trace.

My eyes, sparkling with tears of happiness and sorrow,
Wish for you among the snowy blossoms in vision;
A few minutes of your watch to borrow
To say what I did was not treason,
And of my existence you always were the reason.
