Debarati presents five evocative haikus for DifferentTruths.com, capturing the raw intersection of sensory nostalgia, childhood trauma, and domestic life.
morning exercise
outside my window
the aroma of kachoris
childhood trauma —
an ant keeps crawling
up my bed
dreamcatcher
against the tangerine sky
a will-o'-the-wisp
summer terrace
granny adds oil
to the mango pickle
earthquake —
cracked walls spilling
family secrets
