A gender-sensitive poem, by Suchismita, that tells us about the perils that a girl faces and attitude of the cruel society, exclusively for Different Truths.
Amidst all the vicious layers of calamity,
She walks with a fearful heart yet with pride,
The lusty eyes fall upon the shrinking face,
To lick and wrap all the delicious taste of her aura.
Heart-wrenchingly horrendous it looks
When the human-like predators chase her
And make her fumble and tremble.
Her ‘pearl like sweat drops’ fall uncontrollably
When she runs and incessantly gasps.
Beauty never gets a chance to bloom in this world,
When the demons gobble the bud of a flower,
Their warm fantasy found its heinous purpose
To choke her up and throttle her vagina.
‘Purity is gone’, the society shrieks and whines
And her entire life turned into a nasty trash
Scarring her with several cuts and poisons.
And there lingers a voice which says,
“This country is a pious shrine until the sun sets.”
