A poignant love poem, by Sarala, exclusively for Different Truths.
He stands every day On the same spot same time Just to see her walk past Her two plaits swaying Left and right She leaves a sweet aroma As she walks Her glass bangles jingle As she dances in rhythm He can’t take his eyes off her She is an enchantress In his eyes She loves white clothes With a red border. With a red dot on her forehead which Shows she is a woman Of chastity and divinity She is epitome of love And affection Any man who gets her As his wife is blessed surely There are so many suitors But she only loves A matured man of fifty And she is hardly twenty He knows her heart well And approached her And asked her for her hands Coyly though She gripped his hands And a love story of Two hearts began On a stormy night And drenched their hearts With love and desire.
