A satirical poem about an onlooker, by Monika, exclusively for Different Truths.
In the world of ‘Thinkers’ and ‘Doers’
I wouldn’t shy to be an ‘Onlooker’.
Perhaps daydreaming ain’t perfect
but to endure hum and haw
through some pauses
is a price worth paying.
I shall wait
every chance I get.
My gaze set to the skyline,
wondering… to overlook the sight
is denying yourself
wonderous Mystique of life.
When these ‘Thinkers’ are busy
following the humdrum,
I stumble over the trivia of existence.
Lending myself lenience
to let my mind break free from
the confines of being prosaic.
I wonder from where to acquire
the strands that fasten
one human to another and
quash the maims that separates us.
I think about the genesis of virtues
and what ‘Humanity’ is all about.
I would wait…
while others are engaged.
In the intercession of time,
I would give in aeons of tedium
to solve the curio,
like no one before.
