Memories

PC:

An enigmatic poem celebrating love among mundane life, exclusively for Different Truths.

People talked of the brown paddy
Of the loaded gun, political strife
I talked of the intimate sky
And the sylvan land of ‘Parijat’

The caravan sunlight.
The brown meshes
Of the windows
Of his love for her.

I left places cold distances between us
I left, bound to our intentions
Our eyes woven into confessions of shadows

People never talked of evil intentions
Forbidden mornings
Of the loss of lives
Of fishing of plouging
Of the commonplace miseries
Hanging from nooks and corners of life
Of the living dead.

They left the nation
To a perched crane of fleeting stories
Feeding on the carion of leftover dreams.
