It is you

A poem by Elsy that celebrates the innocence of babies, in Different Truths.

The tiny tot
saw her snapshot
at month three
and cooed,
‘look, baby brother!’.

Mom said,
‘no honey, it is not baby brother,
it is you, when a babe’.

To see if she got it right
mom asked,
‘Who is the babe in the picture?’

Like a parrot,
pat came her chirping,
“It is you, when a babe”.
