Grandness in Grace of Giving

Rupa talks about an ageing drooping gnarly leafless tree attending the party of blooming, blossoming, fruiting powerful trees, in this poem, exclusively for Different Truths.

Grand party of greenest of greens
Guests dressed coloreds and creams

Blooms blossomed in snobbish glee
Few laden with myriad fruits cheery

Bent with isolation of ageing grief
Old tree gave away all fruit, flower, leaf
Denuded all but for bark, branches a’creak
For haves she was a ghastly gnarly freak

Arrived lone huddling by herself alone
Whilst “cool” crowded by flashy clone

Saw tree’s fate, a brigade of birds green
Who’s grown on love of wise sage queen

Flock owed Pista plume to her quiet care
Isolated b’coz tree has no more to share
Other than log for warmth, a funeral fare

Birds descended on drooping dying branches
Spectacle for universe to behold forever ages
Glittering in jewels of Grace’s fluorescence
Bow in amazement to tree’s ageing radiance

Nothing touches generosity of giving
Compassionate reach within of sharing
Expectation free courage for caring
To thank- on last leg of the barely living

To love someone for power you seek
Money, Material, Mirrored by the meek
Nullifies learning you pretend to reek

Wisdom, age, experience and helplessness
Shall also touch the “blessed with abundance”
Choose path of kindness for incandescence
For divine landing of love’s lovely luminescence.
