Goodbye

A poignant love poem by Madhumita, for Different Truths.

It feels like I am streaming through a mellow silvery flow,

When the moonlight sieves in through the glass window,

The flap of the wing of the night bird and the beats of the heart could be heard,

Was the endless hypnotising tickling the soft breaths as crazy emotions stirred,

Dead silence of the night pirouettes along with the stars, the breeze accompanied, by the voice;

Your glistening dreamy eyes spoke a million words,

Teary swallows made the longing for you all the worse,

Memories dissolving all pains and tears, Burning along with the desires

A heavy gasp of the breath, by your love, sweetened,

goodbye kiss in the end,

Did you not also cherish, think and care?

About all that was me, about everything that felt of love there?

Goodbye,

This word always scared me,

But the parting kiss made it sacred for me,

My dreams, my life, all I offered to love

And forever am able to love.

Years of love to be lived in my dreams,

Years of love to be cherished as a memory!
