hijacking
           reality
the fool
           of a taxpayer
with a pinched
           purse
helpless
           finding
democratic
           demagogues
at power
           squandering
the wealth
           born of the
ordinary man's
          sweat
into their
          devious
coffers of 
          self-interests
to retain their
          power...

hush!
         no words
of dissent
         lest your
life is
         at peril...

freedom
         is their
power to
         to stab and
stifle
         sanity, the
voice of
         wisdom.

the era of
          blind
'isms' dominate
          doning
camouflaged
         contours...
freedom!
         your faking
distorted
         mien
disgusting
         to the core!
your weight
         too much
for us
         to carry…

Dr. Molly Joseph

Dr Molly Joseph, a bilingual professor and poet from Kerala, has published 26 books, including 18 poems, two novels, and two storybooks for children. She has edited "A Handbook of Contemporary Ethics" and works for values, global peace, and togetherness.
