Francesco’s evocative poem paints a mesmerising portrait of a woman as the boundless sea, for Different Truths.
You are the sea
always!
In the morning
and in the evening.
In you I see
the blue expanses
the sonorous reflections
of the white
waves
and unexplored
depths
abysses and oceans
never violated.
You are the sea
always!
Your blond
hair
mingles
with our
strolls
and the shores
of our ports
ancient refuges
of green
springs.
You are the sea
oh yes!
Sea
that overwhelms me
with its
rippling waves
and the silent
moons
the tides
and the seagulls.
You are a woman
and you are the sea
you are the sun
moon and stars
you are the reflection
of my tomorrow
and the foam
impetuous
by the wind defeated
and in you rests
the thought
never dormant
shipwrecked endlessly
in the sunken caves
of our senses
always alight
pushed and lulled
by the currents
never tired
of our hearts
formerly corsairs
and clandestine pirates
of the oceans
vast
blue
mighty
and immense.
You are the sea
