Essential Lessons on Love and Loss

The snowfall left a white slope.
Seen for the first time, it reminds me
of my mother's last years. All of her
and truths exist within. My dog
circles a dark patch on the calm surface.

When a part of the white flies
I shriek with delight. If you were here
I would have been pointing at
the white it left behind. " Look,
a white owl." You are not here. You are.
