Coping with Love, Loss, and Life’s Ephemerality

this too shall pass
dad's last words
on the hospice bed

deepening winter
grandpa's armchair
gathers snow

merry-go-round
a child's giggle
through candy floss teeth

spring colours —
strewn across the golf course
yellow palash

leaving footprints in the air
school playground

morning lake
grandpa sips lemon tea
with the morning newspaper
