Harinder meets her Lord in her dreams and is scared. An evocative poem, exclusively for Different Truths.
I saw a tall man in my dreams With authority he was commanding his team I could just see his white, long robe But the mind wanted to further probe So, I tried to look at his face And oh! my Lord’s grace As he turned around, I got blinded by the light I gave out a scream in utter fright I woke up with drops of sweat on my forehead I checked my pulse to see if I was alive or dead I wrapped myself tightly in my own arms And prayed to the Lord to protect me from all harm I uttered the name of the Lord dear And then someone whispered gently in my ears “You wanted to meet me all this while, And instead of greeting me with a smile, You panicked and gave out a scream And I quickly had to exit out of your dream Of all fears you have to purge your soul To reach the ultimate goal” Seeing my Lord, I folded my hands to pray, And this is what I had to say, “I don't crave for salvation, oh my Lord! Just make me a milestone near your abode I may never reach you; you may never be mine! But I would love to serve you by guiding other souls to your shrine.”
