Raja’s haunting poetic exploration of unrequited connection, where whispered conversations dissolve into the changing seasons of a fading memory, for Different Truths.
The day you opened the window
And looked out
Eyes searching the skies
Wondering who called your name
I had talked to you
But the spring went about its own way
The carnation bloomed and browned
And withered away
Gathering dust, as the cuckoo
Sang its last song
I had talked to you
Winter came, as it always does
Covering every prayer in snow
White upon white of nothingness
Dying embers of broken conversation
Slowly losing way
I had talked to you
You closed the window
Shutting out the world we know
Returning to your bed
Of untold stories and stolen whispers
Melting in oblivion
I had talked to you
Like the waves of an ocean
Rising deep inside, knowing –
Seashells and moonlight in symphony –
One day, they will touch the shore
