Jibanananda’s Kite: A Metaphor of Rebirth

Jibanananda's kite now roams freely in the sand dunes.
Black kites turn white in the blink of an eye.

Its golden wings were cut off…
Feet are slipped on the wheels of the train like heaven to hell.
Twisted electrical wires are capturing their whole body.
Still, the kite believes life is a blessing from God.
Still wants to draw the simple equation
like E is equal to MC Square (e=mc^2).

Kite without wings floats and sinks in the white foamy sea…
As if it belongs in a rhyme!
From a high mountain, the fountain sees everything…
The black kite becomes white by struggling on its own journey.

To see that…
Jibanananda is laughing out loud, and the whole city is shaking, trembling
and feeling the absolute joy of being alive, waking up, and getting a new birth again.
