Focus: Crafting, Health, and Spiritual Journeys in Modern Life

Letting out the granny in you

Women let out screams,
animals are let out of their cages,
and people feel a merciful let-out.
Ever heard of letting out
the inner granny in you?
You didn’t?
You can do so now.
All those fond of the arts,
more so, knitting and crochet tarts
cultivated during the pandemic
indoors,
people can do so beyond bored doors.
Craft cinema nights are the in-thing
in places like the US, Denmark, Germany,
Finland and now in Vienna,
this is an activity that chills the
hot-headed human antennae.
It might appear ‘grannyish’ to some
but, crafting together seems great fun.
So, anytime you wish to slow the
pace of life a little,
go to a craft cinema night kittle.
Also, a statement against fast fashion
so, to say,
crafting handmade knitwear
is here to stay
especially when it’s done
watching a movie, you’ve seen before
like cooling emotions down to the core.

Taking care of youth bone density

The sign of old men and women complaining
about aches and pains, squirming
all a mundane sight this
but wouldn’t you be shocked
to know that people as young
as teenagers and young adults
could suffer from such hazardous health results?
Genetic disorders are a major cause.
Lack of physical activity is an added clause
in the reasons pointing to juvenile
osteoporosis, it could be the lower
back, hip or foot.
A hump on the spine or a limp afoot.
Avoiding caffeine or soda is one wise way
to keep osteoporosis at bay.
Eating fruits and veggies that have vitamin C
doing enough exercise, playing games
is the best way you see.
So, slash that lazy, desk-bound lifestyle.
Move from your gaming desk,
jump and play physical games for a while.
So, beware of the statement,
‘only oldies suffer such stuff.’
Today, juvenile osteoporosis
is a blind man’s buff.

Boating for that holy dip

Ferrying a boat across the Ganga for a living
one young man from Bihar found
an innovative way of travel sieving.
To avoid the hustle-bustle stampede
scenario at Mahakumbh Prayagraj
he was going to overtake
the population swelling barrage.
With a couple of friends for company
they were going to take that holy dip
definitely.
No road trip or travel by train.
Just a motorised boat journey reigns.
Basic food supplies, cylinder and all;
they were going to sail fast, not crawl
like the people struggling on land.
The Ganga would help
them renew their faith as planned.
Google maps for navigation,
never stopping, the boat always in motion.
Reaching the Sangam in 84 hours,
they achieved their intended intention,
walked back to their boat having reached
their destination.
What was done to avoid crowds,
these gentlemen used their brains
to complete their pilgrimage.
Guess, Yogi should have used
their expertise and courage.
Maybe, then, lives would not
have been lost.
Faith never should come at such
an expensive cost.
