A Father’s Love: A Searched and Found Glance

#1.

falling asleep
I catch myself
awake

#2.

nothing makes me feel
more like an artist
paint on my fingers

#3.

the canvas calls to me
never afraid of
all that white

#4.

each meteor
streaking across the inky sky
a wish fulfilled

#5.

hanging in the sky
one with the clouds
in flight

#6.

picturing Dad’s face
searching the crowd for me
I am loved

#7.

swallowing doubt
she gets her brave on
for the day

#8.

every shadow
light behind it
to be seen

#9.

floating on the day
your hand slips into mine
harvesting the moment

#10.

even when
the river runs dry
you slake me
