Evocative poems by Amita, wherein timid inspiration blossoms into bold poetry through observation and expression. An exclusive for Different Truths.
1
Hesitant,
Hidden in a dance
Behind a half-glance.
I quietly pick it up
Hold it on my tongue,
And dress it in words.
2
Before it escapes, I catch
The shy song
That tried to hide
And note by note,
I write.
3
My eyes,
Gliding through massive paintings
Scores of poems
Rush to me,
I stuff my mouth
As the words crowd,
I let out the lyrics
I spell them firmly
They sit down
On the page
Looking all dainty.
