Lost Love of a Mother’s Tender Touch

Francesco’s poem, written exclusively for Different Truths, explores grief and the enduring love for a mother who has passed away.

And I think of you, mother
you still are
in my heart
and your motherly lips
pure pink colour
they appear to me full of emotions
as dear as the caresses given to me.
For every moment
of your simple life
your words of love
were the rides
always the most beautiful parties
in my beloved child's blood.
Mother
without your skin
in this time without you
driven by pain
I don't see the right way
and that heaven wrote the truth.
Even at this hour
my mother
your voice was silent
only small gestures
movements in the night
drenched crying silences.
Mother took you to death
and it was dark in the veins
when your slender body
gave a start and then another
you little flower
you were thus severed from the roots.
