We’ll hold each other The wise old tree And the ebullient house Full of stories and music We’ll twine around And clasp one other Till time’s end The house Of rhymes and rhythm Laughter and banter The tree Resolute and protective Trapping light Creating artistry On the fading walls Of its companion Making symphony Together… Seasons passed And stories changed Silence loomed As shadows Engulfing… Only the leaves Rustled And whispered We’ll remain thus Till time ends Clinging This earth Our very own Our common Bondage…

Dr. Supatra Sen, Associate Professor, Asutosh College Kolkata is a veteran academician, teaching and researching in the fields of Botany and Environment. Besides international books, papers, and reviews, she has edited several UGC-funded ISBN volumes and is the founder and chief editor of an ISSN peer-reviewed multi-disciplinary academic journal, Harvest, since 2016. Her tryst with poetry began, in 2020, during the global pandemic and, in October 2021, her poetry anthology, My Autumn Sonata, was published.
