Afterlife

Rituparna pens a poem about extra sensory perception (ESP) and afterlife, exclusively for Different Truths.

She saw herself lying dead by the side of the car.
She was on a long drive to meet her parents.
She was travelling in her new blue car gifted by her husband.
It was her birthday gift, the date was April 26, 2019.
Today, she was travelling alone to seek blessings from her parents.
The foggy dawn blurred her vision while confronting a truck.
The collision was lethal enough to hit her down the valley.
She went to that unknown land leaving all aspirations.
She could not fulfil her coveted desire to seek blessings from her parents.
That was the date, April 26, 2020, critical enough to land herself in afterlife.
