You Never Know

A poignant poem about life, by Shivani, exclusively for Different Truths.

You never know what comes next,
In this abyss of life or pretext,
Falling for the dry pond of disinterest,
Each time we rise up from the flow of curiosity.
You never know when our disinterests are taken over by disbeliefs and
The shadows of demotivation take over your soul to outgrow from the narrow hopes of this generation,
You never know when us, as chaotic bodies, will turn into innocent fragments under the rock of inner peace,
Because things are prettier when breaking and cracking through which sunlight can outgrow and kiss the water beneath it.
Too selfish you see, but the sky has got to carry some unanswered prayers and some unshed tears,
Remembering the lost forgotten dreams with each mass and falling crystals with each emotion,
Of disguise and despair,
For devils are fallen angels and angels have risen devils,
By truth or by luck,
God only knows but every stroke of luck bleeds through,
Whether on purpose or by chance,
You never know
You never knew
And you will never know.
