The Streams of Pain

An evocative poem by Neelam, a nature poem and a social commentary at various levels, exclusively for Different Truths.

When the flow of pain falls
Like a turbulent stream
From the mountains of blind worship,
You are petrified.

You don’t know
What to do,
Which path to take,
And before you can think much,
The stream takes you forcibly away
And submerges you
Till you choke and are blue.

You are still able to push your way out
Through the raging waters,
But you still can’t figure out
What made the stream target you,
And you stay anxious and troubled.

May be,
It’s time
To forgive the lofty mountains
And move on.
